How can I be sure the Sendo invitation email I recieved is not spam, a scam or phishing?

We have recently received reports of individuals receiving fraudulent emails that appear to be Sendo invitations. These phishing emails are designed to imitate our communications and may look similar to legitimate invitations sent through our platform. These messages are not sent by Sendo.

To help protect yourself, please keep the following in mind:

• Sendo will never require you to log in or download to view an invitation.
• Sendo will never ask you to sign into your Google account. 
• Legitimate Sendo invitations take you directly to the invitation without a login screen.
• All official Sendo invitation links begin with https://sendomatic.com.
• Before clicking any link, hover over it to verify the destination. If the URL does not begin with https://sendomatic.com, do not click it.
• All official Sendo invitation emails are sent from [e-mail].

If you receive an invitation from someone you do not know or were not expecting, exercise caution and do not click any links.

Not sure if a message is real?

• Don't click any links or log in.
• If you hover over the link in the email and it does not start with https://sendomatic.com, it is fake.

If you are unsure whether an invitation is legitimate, please forward the email to [e-mail], and our team will review it for you. 

What to do if you received a fake phishing email:

• Do not interact with the email.
• Forward to [e-mail] to help track global phishing attacks.
• Forward to [e-mail] or submit details online via ReportFraud.ftc.gov

Think someone sent an invitation from you that you didn’t create?

• Change your email account password right away, and set up two-factor authentication.
• Run an anti-virus scan or contact an IT professional to ensure that you no longer have any malicious software installed on your computer.
• If you have reason to believe your Sendo account, not just your email account, was compromised, please contact Sendo.

The security of our users is extremely important to us. We can't prevent third parties from sending fraudulent emails, but we're working with authorities, service providers, and others in the invitation and greeting space to investigate these incidents and help stop this activity.
